Current Exhibition


Arts Tropical is pleased to present Reona NISHINAGA’s solo exhibition “Halloween Children” from 11th October to 8th December.
Nishinaga’s family has roots in the Pacific Rim including Okinawa, Kagoshima, South Korea, Taiwan, Manchuria, California, and Hawaii. She is an artist who researches such complicated history and culture and works installations, images, planes, etc. from social and spiritual aspects.
In this exhibition she will present new installation work revolving around the relationship between this side and other one, which focuses of her childhood memory she played with a child of US soldiers living in the base, classmate of cram school.

西永怜央菜(にしなが・れおな / Reona NISHINAGA)
1995年沖縄県浦添市出身。幼少期、沖縄県浦添市 宮古島 ホーチミン 那覇市と住居を転々とする。大学進学を機に2014-2018の四年間秋田市に暮らす。

Reona NISHINAGA is born 1995 in Urasoe-City Okinawa Island Japan. She used to be moving around to many cities, Miyako Island, Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam and Naha City when she was childhood. She have lived in Akita-City, north of Japan for 4 years between 2014 and 2018. Currently She lives and works in Naha City again and is collecting family’s history. Also she is enrolled at Okinawa Prefecture University of Arts.
